I was born in Eilat, Israel in 1961 and grew up there.

I started playing guitar at the age of 16, a time when the music played on the radio was high quality and varied, we listened a lot to music, blues and folk music, progressive rock, Israeli, French and European music, Greek Arabic  and classical music.

 

I played in Eilat with my brother, Asher Levy, a composer and musician and in 1982 we moved to Tel Aviv to study music and music education. Upon graduation in '85, I joined a band that accompanied an energetic and talented stage artist from Trinidad, Vin Cardinal. We performed all over the country and I got to play and got to know many fine musicians. In 1989, the band Sdakim was formed in Eilat, in 1990 the band recorded its first singles, Hasimta and 40. In the late 90's, Asher Levy collected some of the recordings for the disc named "Od Meat".

In 1996 I returned to live in Eilat, working in music education and playing in hotels, studying writing and recording.
